Fan – art quilt

Inspired by beautiful Japanese folding fans and fan motives.
You may have seen in Japanese traditional design, fan shapes are used often as motif and frame for art works or kimono design. This quilt was designed incorporation with it.

I quilted each fan shapes with Sashiko motives and also quilted some Temari pattern on background.

The fan shapes are mainly made with beige fabric with some indigo/blue accents and hand appliqued on the background.
The main part of background is olive green and very light green.
The accent fabric is wine with flower print.
The outer border is very deep green.

Machine stitched, hand appliqued and machine quilted.
Quilting is done by hand guided free motion quilting, no computer or programed pattern.

All material used are made of cotton including thread and wadding.
There is a hanging sleeve attached at the top of this quilt. However due to cost of postage, hanging bar and fixture are not included in this listing. There is a detailed instruction with this item.

Hang this quilt away from direct sunlight in order to avoid sun damage.
Dusting and spot cleaning is recommended.
If necessary, you can wash in a gentle wash cycle with gentle detergent.
Do not dry clean.
Dry on flat surface. Do not tumble dry.
Steam to shape if needed but do not iron.
